Mission

The mission of the Athletic Training Program is to empower students to become disciplined, self-reliant, responsible leaders in their careers and communities by providing superior hands-on, student-centered learning experiences and professional education in athletic training.

Goals

Pacific's MSAT program will prepare you to:

  • Become a highly qualified health care professional and expert in providing emergency care to athletes returning to competition. 
  • Collaborate with physicians to provide prevention, examination, diagnosis, intervention and rehabilitation to patients.
  • Pass the national certification examination.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of athletic trainers is projected to grow 23% from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations.

Pacific Athletic Training alumni are currently working for the National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), National Basketball Association (NBA), Oregon State University, Washington State University, and various other colleges.

University of the Pacific’s Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). The program has received the maximum initial accreditation of five years through the 2024-2025 academic year.
