HealthForce Partners Paid Internship (Behavioral Health)

The HealthForce Partners Internship Program seeks to address the deficit of behavioral health professionals serving within San Joaquin County. Students are eligible to apply once admitted into the MSW program.

  • $20 per hour behavioral health internship
  • Must live in San Joaquin County

HealthForce Partners Scholarship (Need-Based)

The HealthForce Partners program provides need-based awards to social work students who plan to practice in behavioral health settings. Students are eligible to apply once admitted into the MSW program.

  • Students must live in San Joaquin County

Abbott Fund Scholarship

In an effort to address the diabetes epidemic in Stockton, California, University of the Pacific has partnered with the Abbott Fund to provide specialized training and up to 50% in tuition scholarships. To qualify, MSW students must:

  • Enroll in the Diabetes Care & Management track
  • Live or work in the Stockton area
  • Commit to working in diabetes care in Stockton for two years post-graduation

External Scholarship Opportunities

California HCAI Behavioral Health Scholarship

The California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) will provide eligible applicants up to $25,000 in funding for behavioral health care in underserved communities. 
Apply by Aug. 31, 2023 to qualify.

Native American Birdwoman Student Scholarship

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) will provide $1,000 to Native American social work students in California.
